The use of concept map in basic nursing science

Abstract
Nursing Science has a unique knowledge body as a applied science based on cutural science, natural science and social science. But nursing education has a several problem considering the realtionship theory between nursing practice. This study attempted to integrate theory and practice in baccalaureate nursing education, specially basic nursing science. This research showed that students using the concept maps rather than traditional teaching modes, will be significantly better able to identify scientific principles to describe why specific steps of a nursing knowledge and skill were done.
This research focused on teaching and evaluation strategy that develop links between scientific theory and basic nursing. And then this research composed the three chapter, the first chapter is Ausubel meaningful reception learning theory, the second chapter is concept map and last chapter is the use of concept mapping in basic nursing science as teaching strategy and evaluation instrument.
Summarizing each chapter, the first chapter described that meaninful learning is defined as a process of consciously integration new knowledge with one¢¥s previous knowledge in ways tha stronly link the two. Novak & Gowin(1984) suggested the concept mapping as a tool that is useful to integrate new knowledge with one¢¥s previous knowledge.
In the second chapter, we described that concept mapping is what is. So to speak, concept map¢¥s definition, mapping method, characteristics and evaluation¢¥s method.
At the third chapter, we emphasized the usefulness of concept map that showed by mapping "immobilization¢¥ concept. And we supposed concept map to the tool of evaluation.
Conclusionly, concept map help the nursing student and instructor to identify the student¢¥s knowledge structure about basic nursing science and is the ease with which misconceptions can be noted. Also concept map contributed to the tool of evaluation.
